Here's what I've been making:
This is a small part of a mini quilt I'm making for my partner in the Quilt Swap Bootcamp group on flickr. I would show the whole thing, but I'm afraid it would give away the theme, and thus give away to my partner that this is for them! |
I made another Monique Dress from Sew Serendipity. This time I sized down to a XXS (the sizes seem to run a little large) and it has a more snug fit.
I used the Heather Ross Mendocino fabric, which I was very lucky to find in an Atlanta quilt shop that didn't know what it was. |
Here it is on. Excuse the poor photo, my husband is at work, so I had to use my camera's timer and sit it on the kitchen table! |
I've had this shirt shirt for 4 years, and it was borrowed by a friend about a year ago. When she returned it, there was blood splatter all over the front that wouldn't come out, and there was no explanation given as to how it got there. No amount of Shout would get out the "evidence", so it languished in my closet for the past year; unable to be worn, and yet too beloved to discard. Solution: I zig-zag stitched leaf shapes over the stains, gave them stems using a decorative stitch, and voila! Better than ever! |
I've had one yard of Heather Ross Far, Far Away double gauze laying around for months, and I loved it too much to cut it for something where it wouldn't be the focus. It wasn't realy supposed to be enough to make this top, but with some creative laying-out of pattern pieces I made it work. The pattern is the Juliet Tunic by Sew Serendipity. I had to take in the bust quite a lot to make it fit my girls without being an "Easter Egg Hunt". They don't fill out tops very well! |
Your sewing skills just amaze me! They are all beautiful!
